Job summary

The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia (UVA) seeks an Associate Director of Development to help grow the UVA Health Children's fundraising program. The role partners with physicians, researchers, and leaders to shape and fund priorities across patient care, research, and education.

You will cultivate and solicit major gifts, manage a diverse donor portfolio, and collaborate with UVA Health Development colleagues to advance a donor-centric strategy for the health enterprise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of 3 years of fundraising experience with gifts of $50,000+.
• Ability to build philanthropic relationships and move a pipeline from planning to solicitation and stewardship.
• Experience using a donor database to maintain and review donor data and reports.
• Strong goal orientation and ability to meet metrics.

Responsibilities

• Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospects for UVA Health Children's priorities.
• Develop and implement donor strategy to advance major gift pipeline.
• Manage a pipeline of proposals aligning donor interests with clinical, research, and education priorities.
• Collaborate across departments to design a comprehensive fundraising plan and engage diverse prospect populations.
• Review HIPAA-compliant patient data to identify major gift prospects and ensure proper governance.
