Jane is actively seeking a Director of Engineering to lead the Dev Acceleration team. In this remote-first, founder-led SaaS environment, you will work closely with developers to explore AI approaches that accelerate product delivery and improve software quality.

You will shape how we measure progress, communicate change clearly, and mentor a small, senior team to bring transformative AI-enabled practices to production across the organization.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Hi, I'm Kristien https://www.linkedin.com/in/kristien-wolmarans/, a Director of Engineering at Jane leading our Dev Acceleration team. This team’s mission is to experiment with ways AI can help our developers build and ship better software, faster. Jane is founder-led and our mission is to help the helpers. This team is one way we do that: the quicker our developers can build, the sooner the clinics who rely on Jane get what they need.

AI tools and ideas change every week, so this team moves fast. We try things, keep what works, and happily drop what doesn't. You'll lead a small, experienced team who head out to explore, then come back together to build. You won't have a triad to lean on, so you'll work closely with developers across Jane, get close to how they write code, and bring them along with clear and honest communication.

This is a big, visible role. You'll help set how a whole engineering org works with AI, and you'll be the person who makes that change land. If you love listening to a problem before jumping to a solution, and you get a kick out of helping people get excited about something new, I'd love to meet you.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

At Jane, we’re committed to paying fairly, clearly, and above all, paying for growth. This role has an annual salary range of $190,400 CAD to $309,400 CAD. While that is a large range, it is intentional. It reflects the full growth journey someone might take in the role, from developing skills early on to becoming highly proficient and ultimately achieving excellence.

Most new hires join at the accomplished stage, which for this role represents an annual salary of $226,100 CAD. A starting salary below this typically indicates a candidate with strong potential who is still developing key skills. Salaries above this usually apply to existing team members who have made a significant impact and bring deep Jane‑specific knowledge.
