Job summary

Jersey Digs in Jersey City, NJ seeks a Sr. Development Manager to lead complex industrial and retail projects from site selection through design, permitting and contract execution.

You will coordinate with real estate, design engineering, finance, and permitting agencies to secure resources and milestones while driving delivery and managing risk. You will supervise procurement, vendor qualifications and safety programs, and work with AHJ authorities to ensure compliance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of project management, real estate development, architecture/design experience.
• Experience in commercial retail development, specifically grocery.
• Pre-construction experience including entitlements, due diligence, design and permitting.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Independently manages difficult, cross-functional retail and/or industrial builds from site selection through design completion, permitting and contract execution.
• Collaborates with real estate, design engineering, entitlements, construction, finance, architects, engineers, and permitting agencies to secure resources and milestones.
• Drives delivery by weighing risks, communicating with leadership, and resolving project issues with stakeholders and vendors.
• Oversees vendor procurement and ensures consultant qualifications meet project needs.
• Supervises safety program implementation with the project team.
• Coordinates with authorities (AHJ) to ensure regulatory compliance and smooth execution.
• Develops schedules for design and permitting, and aligns long-lead procurement strategies with the Transaction team and developers.
