Ryan Companies has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Development Accountant in Minneapolis. We are seeking self-motivated and professional candidates to provide expertise to the development accounting process.

The role involves managing the real estate development cycle, coordinating with executives, lenders, and partners, and overseeing GAAP financial statements and tax schedules for JV projects. The position includes competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 2-5 years of accounting experience; CPA preferred.
• Strong time management skills and proven ability to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written skills.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, understand, and document a working knowledge of the real estate development cycle.
• Effectively communicate with internal and external personnel including executive leadership, investment partners and lenders.
• Prepare requisitions and invoices to fund draw requests from lending institutions.
• Partner with Legal and Capital Markets teams in land closings, project financing closings, joint venture closings, and asset sale closings.
• Oversee internal cash-flow and GAAP financial projections pertaining to development pursuits, asset sales, development fees and asset acquisitions.
• Maintain project-specific GAAP financial statements on a monthly and quarterly basis.
• Prepare tax schedules for Joint Venture development projects.
• Apply accounting principles (including joint venture partnerships and consolidation rules) for Ryan developed projects.
• Prepare ad hoc management reports to Owners, lenders and regional operating officers.
• Prepare schedules to support the annual external audit.

Compensation

Compensation: The annual base pay is $66,600.00 - $92,000.00. The base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission and/or an incentive program.
