Job summary

CarGurus is seeking a Developer Experience Architect to lead the design and delivery of developer tooling and core platforms. You will shape authentication, identity, and scalable services on AWS, leveraging Java, Spring Boot, and modern frontend stacks.

This role emphasizes cross-team collaboration, governance, and measurable outcomes. The ideal candidate has 8+ years in fullstack design, strong Java experience, and familiarity with AI tooling and Terraform.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years in fullstack software design and development.
• At least five years of Java experience.
• Experience with React, Node, Remix for web apps.
• Terraform experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and ship developer tooling, core frameworks, and reusable templates to raise productivity.
• Advance agentic development ecosystem: Claude Code configuration, plugins, skills, MCP servers.
• Strengthen auth services and identity model using Keycloak, OAuth2/OIDC.
• Build and operate services with Java, Spring Boot, AWS, and Kubernetes.
• Define standards, guardrails, and drive adoption across teams.
• Improve reliability and performance through root-cause analysis.
