Position Summary
As a Senior Developer focused on Banner ERP Integrations, you will lead the configuration, development, and optimization of system integrations between Ellucian Banner and various enterprise systems. You will analyze technical and business requirements, architect robust integration solutions, and ensure data accuracy, security, and consistency across platforms. Your expertise will drive strategic integration initiatives in support of higher education institutions, ensuring alignment with IT governance and enterprise architecture standards.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain integrations between Ellucian Banner and third-party systems, cloud services, and internal applications.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and refine technical requirements for integration projects.
- Architect scalable integration solutions using APIs (REST, SOAP), middleware, and ETL tools.
- Configure and customize data connectors, transformation rules, and workflows to ensure seamless data exchange.
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues related to performance, data conflicts, and system bottlenecks.
- Ensure integration designs align with enterprise architecture, security policies, and IT governance standards.
- Lead modernization efforts for legacy integrations, including migration to cloud-native or hybrid models.
- Document integration designs, technical specifications, and configuration details for support and maintenance.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating and recommending new integration tools and strategies.
- Support Banner-related projects across multiple functional areas including student services, HR, finance, and more.
Qualifications
- Strong experience integrating Ellucian Banner with enterprise systems, ideally using Ethos and Banner 9+ APIs.
- Proficient in web services development and integration patterns (REST, SOAP, JSON, XML).
- Hands‑on experience with middleware platforms and ESB solutions (e.g., MuleSoft, Oracle SOA Suite, BizTalk).
- Solid understanding of SOA, microservices, and cloud-based integration architectures.
- Proficiency in SQL and working with relational databases.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD tools (e.g., Azure DevOps).
- Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, CloudWatch, ECS, and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform) is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Preferred: Experience in the higher education sector and working knowledge of other ERP platforms like Workday or Oracle.
