Job summary

Temporal Technologies is seeking a Senior Developer Advocate to teach via working code and storytelling, turning complex distributed‑systems ideas into approachable experiences. You will collaborate with Education, Product, Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Sales and Marketing to scale developer education across communities.

You will shape the education platform, design hands-on courses, create video content, and develop AI-assisted learning journeys.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering background with production-grade examples in at least one of Temporal's SDK languages.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems fundamentals.
• Experience creating high-quality technical education content for developers.
• Clear, pragmatic communication for technical and mixed audiences.
• Ability to own projects and drive them with minimal direction.
• Product/ownership mindset focused on learner experience and platform.
• Comfort with cross-functional collaboration across Product, Engineering, Developer Success, Marketing, and Solutions Architecture.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for conferences, events, trainings, and offsites.

Responsibilities

• Shape the education platform and learning experience direction.
• Design and build exercise-first courses, tutorials, and labs with working examples.
• Produce video education content, including long-form walkthroughs and short clips.
• Create AI and agent content showing how Temporal underpins reliable AI systems.
• Design learning experiences reflecting modern workflows, including AI-assisted formats.
• Maintain alignment with product capabilities and architectural patterns.
• Build reference implementations, labs, and best-practices for Temporal SDK languages.
• Represent education in person at conferences or workshops; run trainings or talks.
• Partner with enterprise-facing teams to scale education assets beyond a single customer.
• Support trainer and developer certification programs and collect feedback for improvement.
• Gather developer feedback and share actionable insights with Product and Engineering.
