Job summary

SWIFT VA is seeking a highly skilled Senior Dev/Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain robust, scalable systems, bridging development and operations for reliable delivery of critical applications. You will optimize infrastructure, automate processes, and foster continuous improvement.

You will mentor junior engineers, enforce security best practices, and participate in on-call rotations to support 24/7 operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of experience in a Dev/Systems Engineering, DevOps, or SRE role.
• Strong proficiency in at least one major programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java).
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Solid understanding of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S).
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position in Virginia is $101,303 USD Annual to $188,135 Annual USD. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
