Business Computers Management Consulting Group, LLC (BCMC) is seeking a Senior Detection Engineer to lead threat hunting, detection engineering, and incident response efforts for federal and critical infrastructure environments. You will translate intelligence into robust detections and automation, spanning endpoint, network, identity, and cloud telemetry.

Qualifications

• Requires security-focused threat hunting and detection engineering experience.
• Ability to map detections to MITRE ATT&CK and explain telemetry and limitations.
• Strong scripting and automation skills for enrichment and validation.
• Experience with production detections and incident response workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test hypotheses to uncover adversary techniques and document conclusions.
• Build behavioral analytics, correlation rules, and queries across multiple telemetry sources.
• Translate hunt methods into reusable detections with clear guidance and criteria.
• Test detections against realistic activity and retain evidence of testing.
• Improve detection fidelity and manage false positives/negatives.
• Coordinate remediation with infrastructure teams to restore coverage.
• Develop automation and SOAR playbooks for detection validation.
• Maintain version-controlled content and review processes.
• Collaborate with hunters, responders, analytics developers, and data scientists.
• Communicate operational impact and remaining gaps in detections.
