S&P Global in New York is seeking a Senior Security Detection Engineer to design and implement advanced detection logic across SIEM, EDR, cloud tools, and AI security systems. You will translate threat intel into actionable rules, tune detections to minimize false positives, and collaborate with red teams to improve coverage.

You will apply Detection-as-Code with CI/CD pipelines, mentor junior engineers, and help elevate the organization’s threat visibility.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, IT, or equivalent security engineering experience.
• 5+ years in cybersecurity with at least 2+ years in detection engineering, threat hunting, or security operations.
• Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or Bash, plus SQL, SPL, KQL or similar query languages.
• Strong experience with SIEM (Splunk, QRadar, Microsoft Sentinel) and EDR (CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Microsoft Defender).
• Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK and translating threat intel into detections.
• Experience with log analysis and telemetry across networks, OS, cloud, and identity providers.

Aufgaben

• Design and develop advanced detection logic for SIEM, EDR, cloud security tools, AI-powered security systems, and network monitoring platforms to identify threats.
• Map adversary TTPs using MITRE ATT&CK to create real-time security alerts and enhance threat visibility.
• Continuously tune detection rules to minimize false positives while maintaining high-fidelity detection capabilities.
• Apply Detection-as-Code with version control, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines for detection rule management.
• Validate and test defenses through red teams and automated breach simulations to identify gaps and improve coverage.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance S&P Global’s security posture and mentor junior team members.
