Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a Senior Transportation Officer to lead high-risk transport operations under federal contracts. A CDL Class B with Passenger Endorsement is required, and incumbents will ensure detainees are transported securely and that vehicles are maintained and compliant.

The role demands strong leadership, ability to handle stress, and travel with overnight stays. Candidates must meet licensing requirements and pass DOT drug/alcohol tests; frequent overtime and long shifts are

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; must meet state employment requirements.
2 years driving experience in a transportation role.
Demonstrated leadership experience; must possess a State Firearms License.
Must possess a State Security Guard License.
Must have completed an approved training program with certification in Corrections, Law Enforcement, or Military.
Certification in Corrections, Law Enforcement, or Military.
Current CDL Class B with Passenger Endorsement; clean driving record.
Passing a DOT drug and alcohol test.
Willing and able to travel extended periods with overnight stays.
Ability to work overtime frequently and to work up to sixteen hours within a 24-hour period.
Must be able to report to work reliably and be physically alert on all assigned shifts.
Must be a United States Citizen.

Responsibilities

Assist management when unique or unexpected problems arise while transporting detainees; help develop solutions.
Review all vehicle inspection reports; develop summaries and note common issues; suggest solutions.
Ensure all permits and licenses for assigned vehicles are in order.
Verify vehicles have necessary safety equipment before trips; notify management if issues arise.
Track DOT Hours of Service on Electronic Logging Devices.
Assist with interviewing and screening of Transport Officers as required.
Review necessary paperwork and reports for Transportation management.
Ensure missions meet safety measures per PBNDS/FBNDS during transport of detainees.
Perform other duties as assigned.
