Job summary

Southland Industries in Houston is seeking an experienced Detailer/Foreman to support construction projects by creating shop drawings, BIM models, and coordinating MEP systems. You will collaborate across teams to ensure accuracy and timely deliverables.

Responsibilities include logging and distributing drawings and RFIs, leading less experienced detailers, and guiding model development, with involvement in budget considerations and sign-off processes with the General Contractor.

Qualifications

• High School or GED with 4 years of related experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret basic construction documents.
• Current knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Piping, Sheet Metal trades and field installation methods.
• Proficiency with Navisworks, Revit and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Create advanced shop drawings for mechanical systems in major construction projects.
• Develop equipment, room layout and detail drawings.
• Provide advanced 3D modeling using BIM and MEP coordination.
• Lead and mentor less experienced detailers on the team.
• Assist with design pull schedule to direct model development and meet deliverables.
• Support budget awareness and cost accountability.
• Participate in meetings with project teams to ensure a successful product.
• May lead final trade coordination and sign-off with the general contractor.
