Job summary

Landform, based in Minnesota, seeks an on-site Senior Designer with 5+ years of experience to lead site design, coordinate disciplines, and mentor designers through full land development from early planning to construction. You’ll use AutoCAD Civil 3D and related tools, manage permit coordination, and guide projects with clients and municipalities, shaping both residential and commercial developments.

Bachelor’s in ABET-accredited program; PE preferred; strong communication and leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum five years of progressive site design experience.
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering, surveying, landscape architecture, or land development.
• Experience preparing construction documents and coordinating project deliverables.
• Experience mentoring or guiding junior designers.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of site plans, grading, drainage, utility, erosion control, and construction documents.
• Apply advanced site design solutions for residential and commercial developments.
• Coordinate with clients, municipalities, consultants, and contractors throughout project delivery.
• Prepare permit applications and guide projects through agency review.
• Perform construction administration and provide technical design support during construction.
• Provide quality control for project documents and design standards.
• Mentor designers and EITs while helping strengthen Landform’s collaborative culture.
• Take ownership of increasingly complex projects while shaping design excellence across the studio.
