LF Sourcing (Millwork) seeks a Senior Designer, Hard Home to own products from concept to shelf for a portfolio spanning mass retail to designer collaborations, including Walmart and Pier 1. The role requires translating celebrity aesthetics into commercial home lines and leading cross-functional teams.
The ideal candidate has 7+ years in Hard Home design, experience with both mass and designer programs, and strong CAD/tech-pack skills.
Are you a movement maker? Are you seeking new and exciting career opportunities?
Here is what you need to know about the job:
We are looking for a Senior Designer, Hard Home who can own a product from first trend idea to finished goods on shelf. You will work across a portfolio that spans mass retail through high-profile Designer Collaborations, including a designer home collaboration with Walmart and the Hard Home program with Pier 1. This is a customer-facing role for a designer with the presence to lead meetings with celebrity designers, translate their vision into commercial product, and drive fashion into every assortment.
Research and build seasonal trend direction for Hard Home, including color, material, finish, and pattern stories. Present concepts that are on-trend and right for each customer, from mass to elevated.
Interpret a celebrity or partner designer's aesthetic and translate it into a cohesive, commercially viable home collection.
Design across Hard Home categories such as tabletop, decorative accessories, lighting, wall décor, storage, and seasonal décor. Deliver line plans, CADs, and presentation boards.
Create complete tech packs and specs, including materials, finishes, dimensions, construction, and packaging. Partner with Technical Design and vendors to resolve feasibility and cost.
Own items independently from concept through sampling, approvals, and production follow-up. Review samples and pre-production, give clear comments, and keep timelines on track.
Work with sourcing, vendors, and factories to hit target costs without losing the design intent.
Lead design presentations and line reviews with retail buyers at Walmart, Pier 1, and other partners.
Serve as the day-to-day design lead with celebrity designers and their teams on the Walmart designer home collaboration. Build trust, manage feedback, and protect the brand vision through execution.
7+ years of Hard Home product design experience, with private label, sourcing agent, or vendor-side experience preferred.
Proven record designing for both mass retail and premium or designer-led programs. Celebrity, licensed, or designer collaboration experience is strongly preferred.
Strong end-to-end product knowledge, including materials, finishes, construction, costing, and overseas production.
Ability to write clear, accurate tech packs and specs that factories can execute.
Advanced skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop; 3D and Ai.
Polished and confident in the room. You hold your own with celebrity designers, executives, and buyers.
A fashion driver. You have a strong point of view on trend and can make it commercial at any price point.
Independent and accountable. You manage your own workload end to end and follow through without being chased.
A strong communicator. You explain design decisions clearly in presentations, emails, and sample comments.
Flexible. You move easily between a mass-market value program and a high-profile designer launch in the same week.
