Job summary

The Goodkind Group, LLC seeks a Senior Apparel Designer to lead seasonal design and development for children’s outerwear and specialty apparel across retail and brand channels.

You will drive creative concepts, silhouette innovation, tech packs, CAD sketches, and oversee development from concept to final approval.

Requirements: 5–10+ years in apparel design focusing on kids’ wear, a Bachelor's in Fashion Design, and proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, and PLM.

• Participate in fit sessions and collaborate with production teams to meet target gross margins without compromising design.
• Mentor junior design staff and manage workflows across private-label and branded lines.

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Apparel Designer to lead seasonal design and development for their children's outerwear and specialty apparel categories. This role will drive creative concepts, silhouette innovation, and commercial product strategies across diverse retail and brand channels.

Key Responsibilities

• Creative Direction: Develop seasonal trend concepts, color palettes, print/graphic stories, and silhouette strategies.
• Product Development: Generate tech packs, detailed CAD sketches, artwork packages, and product specs. Oversee development from initial concept to final approval in partnership with Sourcing and Technical teams.
• Retailer & Brand Presentation: Pitch seasonal assortments, line extensions, and concept boards to key retail partners and executive stakeholders.
• Fit & Cost Management: Participate in fit sessions and collaborate with production teams to meet target gross margins without compromising design integrity.
• Team Leadership: Guide and mentor junior design staff while managing workflows across private-label and branded lines.

Key Qualifications

• Experience: 5-10+ years in apparel design, with a focus on baby/children's categories and outerwear. (Adjacent category experience in activewear, performance, or swimwear is a plus).
• Technical Mastery: Deep knowledge of garment construction, performance fabrications, trims, and graphic application.
• Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop), PLM software, and standard office tools.
• Client Facing: Proven success presenting directly to key accounts, licensors, or external retail partners.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field.

Travel Requirements

• 10–15% travel (Domestic and occasional international) for market research, line presentations, trade shows, and vendor/factory visits.
