Job summary

2×4 is seeking a senior graphic designer for our Digital team in our New York studio. The role requires leading design execution across digital media from web to large-scale installations, ensuring alignment with client needs, technical best practices, and studio goals.

You will lead creative work on projects, mentor junior designers, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver compelling, research-backed, and technically sound designs. Strong typography and motion coding skills are valued.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of relevant professional experience in design and digital media.
• Bachelor or MFA in design or related field.
• Experience leading small digital media projects and contributing to large-scale sites or installations.
• Proficiency in user research, user journeys, content strategy and IA.
• Strong interface and interaction design with emphasis on digital typography.
• Motion design and/or creative coding abilities.
• Proven ability to produce developer handoff materials.
• Expert level with Figma, After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign; proficient with Gmail/Docs/Slides.

Responsibilities

• Develop concepts, implement designs, produce client-facing presentations, and handoff docs for delivery to implementation partners.
• Participate in stakeholder interviews, user research, site analysis, and user journeys, content strategy, IA.
• Create, prototype, and test designs, including motion sketches and scalable prototypes.
• Lead creation of client-facing presentations.
• Mentor interns and junior/mid-level designers.
• Participate in project planning.

Applicants should have experience across a range of digital media, from web design to large-scale environmental installations, and a proven record of leading the design execution of projects and ensuring that the work aligns with client needs, technical best practices, and broader studio goals.

Responsibilities

• Act as creative lead of small-to-mid-sized projects and phases of larger projects
• Develop concepts, implement designs, produce client-facing presentations of work, and produce technical handoff documentation for delivery to implementation partners
• Participate in stakeholder interviews, user research, site analysis, and production of user journeys, content strategy, and information architecture
• Create, prototype, and test designs, e.g. via motion sketches, sketches in code, and at-scale design prototypes
• Lead creation of client-facing presentations
• Work with and mentor interns, junior, and mid-level designers
• Participate in project planning

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of relevant professional experience and industry exposure
• BS/BA/BFA or MFA in design or related field, with emphasis on design and digital media
• Experience leading small-scale digital media projects and making substantial contributions to large-scale projects such as major websites or digital installations, from conception to completion
• Proven ability with a range of digital design tools and practices, including user research, user journeys, content strategy, and information architecture
• Strong interface and interaction design abilities, with special emphasis on digital typography
• Strong motion design and/or creative coding abilities
• Proven ability to produce developer handoff materials
• Expert user of design software like Figma, After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, and productivity software like Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Slides

The salary range for this position is $85,000 to $105,000.
