Introduction
Your role and responsibilities

Senior Designer, IBM Corporation, Austin, TX (Up to 40% telecommuting permitted):

  • Manage project engagements including deliverables (such as concepts, wireframes, interactive prototypes, specifications) engagement agreements and timelines.

  • Design user experiences alongside key product stakeholders to understand and support product business goals, advocating user centered design using human factors, and manage design resources.

  • Translate business requirements to end-user needs and create differentiated design solutions.

  • Mentor junior designers and User Experience professionals, lead team in design thinking and agile methodologies.

  • Direct the user experience design direction and implementation for a major product line.

  • Leverage a solid understanding of UX design principles to create compelling user experiences.

  • Address complex web design problems and provide design solutions that meet user needs.

  • Create wireframes and interactive prototypes for large/complex mobile and web applications using human factors principles.

  • Create graphics and layouts for enterprise web applications.

  • Lead usability research and test efforts including task analysis, user testing, surveys and persona development with target users.

  • Utilize: Sketch/Figma/Adobe XD, UX Research methodologies (usability testing/interviews), Mural/Miro, JIRA/Airtable, Agile/Scrum, InVision, Design Systems.

Required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Graphic Design or related (employer will accept a Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of progressive experience in lieu of a Master’s degree) and one (1) year of experience as a UX Designer or related. One (1) year of experience must include utilizing Sketch/Figma/Adobe XD, UX Research methodologies (usability testing/interviews), Mural/Miro, JIRA/Airtable, Agile/Scrum, InVision, Design Systems. $224,325 - $274,325 per year. Full time. D145.
