Job summary

KCI Technologies, Inc. is hiring a Senior Design Technician to design and draft large-scale construction drawings using AutoCAD, mentoring junior staff, and collaborating with project managers to meet regulatory and client requirements.

You will review technical documents, produce reports, and ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget, while applying ISO standards and safety practices.

Qualifications

• Experience: 10+ years with HS Diploma/GED; 9+ years with an Associate's; 8+ years with a Bachelor’s.
• Proven experience in field technician roles, with a track record of successful completion of assigned projects.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to quality assurance and safety protocols.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong knowledge and proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Experience with Microsoft Suite; Photoshop and Google Earth

Responsibilities

• Design and draft large-scale construction drawings using AutoCAD and other relevant software.
• Mentor and manage lower-level Design Technicians.
• Work with a project manager to ensure designs meet federal, state, and local standards.
• Review and interpret technical documents, prepare accurate reports, and ensure timely and budget-aligned project delivery.
• Size and specify design requirements based on project specifications and client needs.
• Lead by example and mentor junior staff, fostering their growth.
