Job summary

Gordon Reese Design Build in Walnut Creek, CA seeks a Design & Project Consultant to own clients from first call through hand-off. You’ll conduct qualification calls, guide prospects into signed design agreements, and then develop concept designs, space plans, and 3D walkthroughs in Chief Architect.

This high-ownership role offers autonomy, ongoing client interaction, and potential for strong earnings as the company scales. 5+ years of relevant experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in residential architectural design or high-end remodels.
• Bachelor’s degree or certifications in Interior/Architectural Design are required.
• Portfolio showing residential remodeling projects and drafting skills.
• 3D walkthrough capability (live camera movement) is required.
• Proficiency in Chief Architect (or AutoCAD/Revit with willingness to learn).
• Strong client interaction and sales orientation; Sandler training is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own clients from first call through design hand-off to the team.
• Qualify leads and guide prospects into signed design agreements.
• Execute conceptual design, material selections, and permit-ready plan sets.
• Develop space plans and 3D walkthroughs for client review.
• Produce detailed, code-compliant plan sets for permitting and field work.
• Procure materials and finishes with budget alignment.
• Lead hand-offs to estimation, production, and field teams.
• Represent the firm at remodeling seminars and community events.
