Mortenson is seeking an experienced Senior Design Phase Manager in Minneapolis to translate the owner's vision into design solutions and construction parameters. You will lead the design team, ensure scope, budget, and schedule alignment, and coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners.

You will mentor design phase staff, prepare project proposals, and drive clear communication across diverse teams, while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality in a fast-changing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field is required.
• Minimum of 10 years of related experience.
• Strong risk management abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project tools.
• Excellent listening and communication skills; openness to diverse input.
• Ability to travel up to 100%.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design phase to ensure customer experience, financial performance, and smooth transition to construction.
• Achieve scope, budget, and schedule alignment; ensure construction readiness.
• Establish and manage project budget, scope, and budget logs.
• Create and manage schedules and milestones; hold team accountable.
• Obtain regulatory approvals and permits; align design with execution plan.
• Handle bid packages and contract manuals; resolve design issues.
• Develop or review project margin plans; minimize risk and maximize opportunities.
• Mentor and guide design phase team members.
