Job summary

Austin Commercial in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Senior Design Manager to lead design services on a multi-billion dollar semiconductor project. You’ll partner with project teams to drive schedule, budget, and compliance, delivering high-quality design packages on time.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of diverse commercial design and construction program experience.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture or engineering preferred.
• Familiarity with traditional and alternative project delivery types: Design/Build, Construction Manager at Risk, Design-Bid-Build, IPD, Lean, etc.
• Ability to understand and communicate project deliverable requirements as defined by contracts, owner criteria, schedules, and authorities having jurisdiction.
• Proficiency with BIM software platforms and understanding of team needs.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not provided.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day management of the design services.
• Administration of the designer’s agreement including review of invoices and design change orders.
• Management of the design budget and any required change orders.
• Ensure design packages meet bid requirements by understanding project schedule, procurement strategy, and phasing.
• Oversee delivery of milestones and ensure design submissions meet contract standards.
• Collaborate with Builder and Designer to minimize RFIs, ASIs and Change Orders.
• Drive timely responses to Owner design review comments.
• Review and coordinate responses to constructability issues from design reviews.
• Support Project Management and Field Staff in evaluating schedules and cost impacts of scope changes.
• Facilitate construction submittal and RFI reviews.
• Establish and adhere to a work breakdown structure for design/scoping scenarios.
