Job summary

Cordoba Corporation in California is seeking a Senior Design Manager to lead and oversee multiple capital improvement projects with a focus on seismic upgrades, retrofits, and other essential repairs.

You will manage multidisciplinary design teams, coordinate A&E design reviews, ensure compliance with budgets, schedules, and education facility requirements, and collaborate with architects, consultants, and District stakeholders to deliver high-quality facilities.

Qualifications

• 14 years of experience managing facilities design or planning and coordination of capital projects including design, contract administration, cost estimating, and scheduling.
• 4 years of this experience must be with the design, planning and construction of educational facilities or similar public agencies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in architecture or engineering.

Responsibilities

• Manages multiple projects with emphasis on seismic, critical repair and retrofit projects.
• Supervises a team of design professionals through the design review process.
• Coordinates the District’s design process for A&E services to ensure plans meet program, budget, environmental and legal requirements.
• Oversees design changes to maintain budget and schedule.
• Ensures designs meet client standards and educational facility requirements.
