Job summary

AECOM Hunt is seeking a Design Manager to coordinate architectural, structural, MEP, and specialty systems on design-build projects. The role requires on-site presence in Gary, IN and close collaboration with owners, design teams, and trade partners.

The candidate will ensure design integration with schedule and budget, lead constructability reviews, and oversee BIM/VDC coordination while maintaining design integrity and quality.

Qualifications

• BS Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or related field with 10+ years of design/construction/design-build experience, including 2 years in leadership.
• Professional licensure (Architect or Engineer) is a plus; DBIA certification and LEED experience are preferred.
• Experience on large-scale commercial, exhibition, hospitality, aviation, or convention center projects.
• Strong multi-disciplinary coordination and constructability expertise.

Responsibilities

• Lead design coordination across architectural, structural, MEP, and specialty systems.
• Coordinate with design teams, construction teams, owners, AHJs, and trade partners.
• Align design development with procurement, schedule, and budget constraints.
• Oversee BIM/VDC workflows, clash detection, and documentation management.
• Drive design reviews, constructability assessments, and value engineering.
