Role description:

Arcadis is seeking an Architectural and Engineering Senior Design Manager to join our Design Management team within the North America Places group. We want to grow our team of skilled Design Managers throughout North America. We work with our clients around the world to create, support, and enhance smart, safe, and sustainable places where people live, work, learn and thrive. Places impact on the quality of people’s lives through new or redeveloped Industrial & Logistics including Intermodal Terminals, Data Centres, Commercial, Retail, Residential, Defence or Social Infrastructure (Arts, Sports, Health and Education) developments, as well as Automotive, Industrial Manufacturing, Rail, Urban Development Tech, Aerospace & Aviation.

This is a remote role and can be based anywhere in the USA. The successful candidate should expect to travel 25% of the time domestically within the United States related to site and client location work.

Role accountabilities:

• Coordinate with internal and external architects, engineers, designers, consultants, and managers to align strategic objectives and progress
• Spearhead strategic pursuits, develop delivery strategies, create fee projections to meet financial targets, and establish advantageous delivery approaches
• Manage financial and project controls for monitoring, modification, and forecasting
• Oversee resource acquisition, deployment, and optimization for projects
• Drive timely service delivery, ensuring technical and commercial outcomes exceed client expectations
• Implement design delivery best practices, including risk and change management, using digital technologies
• Develop project plans for various Design and Engineering services based on project scopes
• Deliver client presentations, prepare reports, and communicate technical concepts effectively, focusing on scope and risk management

Qualifications & Experience:

• 10+ years’ experience leading large multi-discipline design and construction projects
• Strong financial background related to project and client management
• Experience with Autodesk Platforms: Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) or BIM solutions
• Obtain Certified Project Management (CPM) certification within 30 days of hire (training provided)
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Engineering
• Preferred certifications: PE, RA, PMP
• Sustainable design experience; mechanical systems knowledge is a plus
• Experience in urban environments with transformative solutions
