Job summary

The Dunwoody College of Technology invites applications for a Senior Instructor in the School of Design. This full-time, on-campus role supports undergraduate education across Architecture, Interior Architecture/Design, and Graphic/Experiential Design, with emphasis on foundational and advanced design studios and industry software expertise.

Candidates with professional experience are encouraged to apply; openings may be filled at Assistant Professor level.

Qualifications

• Capable of teaching foundational and advanced design studios.
• Expertise with industry software encouraged.
• Professional design experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates learning activities so that students learn the principles, theory, skills, and work ethic necessary to become proficient for entry-level positions.
• Creates a positive learning environment.
• Monitors, assesses and advises learners on technical and academic progress and performance.
• Uses current academic and industry practices in assigned courses of instruction.
• Develops and updates lesson material and training aids, and maintains equipment within the assigned course of instruction.
• Assists in the recruitment and placement of learners.
• Leads the process of maintaining equipment and recommends new equipment purchases within the assigned program.
• As a part of a team, designs and develops new curriculum within the assigned program.
• Provides support, coaching, and guidance to faculty members.
• Participates in industry and/or professional organizations in order to maintain and enhance program health and academic integrity.
• Other duties as assigned.

BARCH or MARCH

3+ more years of design and/or teaching experience
