Job summary

RTX in Aguadilla, PR, seeks a senior Design Engineer to lead the design engineering team, set priorities, allocate resources and review design documentation to meet safety, quality and schedule needs. This hybrid role combines on-site and off-site work with occasional travel.

You will collaborate with multi-discipline teams to balance durability, performance, cost and weight, mentor engineers, and drive development of team capabilities to support current and future programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 8 years of design engineering experience, or 5 years with an Advanced Degree in Engineering.
• Experience with CAD solid modeling (UG NX) and other modeling and analysis tools.
• English proficiency for communication with customers and teammates.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design engineering team to meet program demands.
• Balance durability, performance, cost and weight across disciplines.
• Identify and manage risks and resolve technical problems.
• Coach and develop design engineers; recruit, retain, and manage performance.
• Develop functional expertise to meet current and future needs.
• Evaluate staffing and resource metrics with leadership and ensure plans are in place.
• Travel is up to 10%.
• Communicate in English with customers and colleagues.
