Job summary

ManpowerGroup's client in Minnesota seeks a Senior Design Engineer to lead product design from concept through production, emphasizing manufacturability and cost reduction in a manufacturing setting. Strong experience with SolidWorks, injection molding, and die casting is required.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into robust specifications, perform FEA, and drive DFMEA/DFM, prototyping, and testing to meet performance and cost targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of product design or development experience.
• Strong SolidWorks proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead product design and development activities from concept through production launch.
• Develop detailed customer, product, and functional requirements.
• Create 3D CAD models, assemblies, and engineering drawings using SolidWorks.
• Perform engineering calculations, tolerance analyses, and design validation activities.
• Utilize Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to evaluate and optimize product performance.
• Design components and assemblies for injection molding, die casting, and other manufacturing processes.
• Conduct and participate in Design Reviews, DFMEA, and risk assessments.
• Develop prototypes and oversee prototype evaluations.
• Support Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Execute product testing, validation, and accelerated lifecycle testing.
• Provide technical leadership for product improvements and customization efforts.
• Support manufacturing implementation and continuous improvement projects.
