Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Design Engineer to join our Kansas City, MO team. The role reports to the Mechanical Engineering Manager/Chief Engineer and focuses on owning the project design, interfacing, and ensuring budget and scope adherence.

You will coordinate with PMs for schedules, work with electrical/controls teams, and collaborate with vendors to deliver fabrication-ready drawings and compliant equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of machine design experience using Autodesk Inventor.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create fabrication detail drawings and installation layouts based on project scope, specs and estimates.
• Design mechanical equipment based on project scope, specs and estimates.
• Incorporate codes and safety regulations into drawings.
• Collaborate with electrical and controls teams to integrate electrical control devices into the mechanical design.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for fabrication of mechanical components.
• Coordinate tasks, schedules and functions for engineering staff.
• Conduct and document design and safety reviews related to the project.
• Check drawings for thoroughness and accuracy.
• Present information and reports to the client.
