Job summary

Fluor Corporation is seeking an Area Lead-level engineer to join our Houston-based projects. The role involves delivering quality engineering services, applying cost-competitive execution techniques, and taking a lead on assigned projects.

You will develop specifications, review vendor docs, perform calculations, and participate in procurement, with a focus on safety, reliability, and compliance with codes. Travel for site work is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Accredited four-year degree in engineering and 8 years of related experience.
• Professional registration or certification in the field is preferred.
• Ability to communicate with management, coworkers, clients, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Apply Cost Competitive Execution techniques to develop the most cost-effective total project solution.
• Develop and review specifications, including design criteria.
• Participate in activities associated with equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting
• Perform and check calculations, specify equipment, and solve moderately complex engineering problems
• Review vendor equipment documentation within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements
• Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity
• Other duties as assigned
