Job summary

Double E is seeking a Sr. Design Engineer in West Bridgewater, MA to own and advance product lines from concept to production.

You will design, develop, and modify mechanical solutions, applying solid engineering principles to meet customer specs, manufacturability, quality, and cost targets. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of mechanical design experience in manufacturing, a BS in Mechanical Engineering, and strong CAD skills (Inventor, CREO, SolidWorks).

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years of mechanical design experience in manufacturing.
• Experience in CNC machining and machine shop settings.
• Experience in industrial machine, web handling, converting, or material handling industry.
• Strong 3D CAD skills: Inventor, CREO, or SolidWorks.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with customers and cross-functional teams.
• DFM (Designed for Manufacturing) compliance.

Responsibilities

• Drive quality improvement and cost reduction on new and existing designs.
• Coordinate pre-quotes, configuration questions, and design releases.
• Collaborate with Operations on prioritization and timelines.
• Review orders to ensure designs meet specs and standards.
• Create CAD models, drawings, and engineering documentation.
• Maintain SOPs, technical files, and product documentation.
• Answer product, service, assembly, and application questions.
• Mentor junior staff on design and engineering standards.
• Serve as knowledge base for customers and internal teams.
• Reinforce design excellence and manufacturing principles.
