Job summary

Odin Labs, Inc. is hiring a Senior Design Engineer to research, design, and build the interfaces used to run a jobsite. You will blend product-design judgment with production frontend engineering to keep interfaces clear and coherent across screens and environments.

You will establish Odin's design language and production design system, creating coded prototypes, responsive screens, and working with engineers to connect interfaces to data, services, and business rules behind a complete workflow.

Qualifications

• Portfolio with customer-facing interfaces designed and implemented in production.
• Experience conducting customer research and usability testing and applying findings.
• Tracks record of building substantial responsive web interfaces with accessibility and performance in mind.
• Established or improved a design language or production design system with adoption by other teams.
• Ability to create coded prototypes to answer product questions and move toward production.

Responsibilities

• Research customer work with Product and translate evidence into interaction models.
• Design responsive interfaces across desktop, tablet, mobile, and different input methods.
• Build coded prototypes with realistic mocked states for testing navigation and behavior.
• Write production frontend code for full screens and interaction flows.
• Establish and evolve the design language and design system with reusable tokens and components.
• Improve experiences as the design system grows and identify durable shared capabilities.
• Collaborate with Software Engineers on interface contracts to unify frontend and backend work.
• Lead design-heavy projects from problem to adoption and ensure quality of ships.
• Build accessibility, performance, and visual consistency into the product.
• Use AI to accelerate research, prototyping, and design-system implementation while staying accountable.
• Support engineers through reviews, documentation, and feedback; participate in on-call rotation.
