Job summary

A leading interconnect technology company in Painesville, Ohio is seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer. This full-time role focuses on the design and development of innovative connector and cable assembly products, emphasizing new product development and technical excellence. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, over 10 years of mechanical design experience, and strong proficiency in SolidWorks, among other qualifications. Qualifications

• 10+ years of mechanical design experience.
• Experience with connectors or cable assemblies preferred.
• Ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new connector and cable assembly products.
• Lead and participate in formal design reviews.
• Generate 3D models and detailed drawings using SolidWorks.
• Collaborate with process engineering for new manufacturing processes.
• Ensure product designs meet requirements.
• Translate customer requirements into engineering specifications.

Skills

Strong proficiency in SolidWorks

Mechanical design experience (connectors or cable assemblies)

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work cross‑functionally

Knowledge of connector and cable assembly design principles

Experience with polymers and plastic materials

Familiarity with signal integrity

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
