ManpowerGroup is seeking a Senior Design Engineer in a 100% onsite role in Owatonna, MN. The engineer will lead design from concept to production, emphasizing cost reduction, manufacturability, and robust performance using SolidWorks and FEA tools.

The role requires a mechanical engineering degree and 5+ years’ experience in product design, with strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. Salary ranges from 115k to 130k DOE, onsite only.

Qualifications

• Lead product design and development from concept to production launch
• Develop detailed customer, product, and functional requirements
• Create 3D CAD models, assemblies, and drawings using SolidWorks
• Perform engineering calculations, tolerance analyses, and design validation
• Utilize Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to optimize performance
• Design components for injection molding, die casting, and other processes
• Conduct and participate in DFMEA and risk assessments
• Develop prototypes and oversee prototype evaluations
• Support Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and cost-reduction initiatives
• Execute product testing, validation, and lifecycle testing
• Provide technical leadership for product improvements and customization
• Support manufacturing implementation and continuous improvement projects

Our client is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to support new product development, product enhancement, and cost reduction initiatives in a manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for an engineer with a strong background in mechanical product design, SolidWorks, and manufacturing processes such as injection molding and die casting. Candidates with experience supporting products used in the construction industry or those familiar with construction-related equipment, materials, and applications are highly desired.

The Design Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to transform customer and product requirements into innovative, manufacturable solutions while ensuring performance, quality, and cost objectives are achieved. This position is 100% onsite in Owatonna, Minnesota.

• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes




• Ability to lead projects and work effectively within cross-functional teams




• Excellent communication and technical documentation skills

Preferred

• Experience designing products utilizing injection molding and die casting




• Familiarity with products, equipment, or applications related to the construction industry




• Experience with DFMEA, DFM, validation testing, and prototype development
