Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to shape and evolve the design system across design tools, documentation and production code for a scalable B2B software platform.

You will bridge product design and frontend engineering to reduce design-to-code drift, establish standards, and prototype solutions enabling teams to move faster with confidence. This remote US-based role offers strong compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of frontend design and development in complex B2B SaaS or enterprise software.
• Strong frontend engineering with modern web technologies and component-based architecture.
• High UI/UX craft with usability, accessibility, and maintainability.
• Experience with component libraries, Storybook documentation, and design-engineering infrastructure.
• Strong accessibility fundamentals, including semantic HTML and ARIA patterns.
• Excellent communication skills for explaining technical decisions to diverse audiences.
• Portfolio showcasing impactful design-engineering work.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the design system across Figma, Storybook, and production code.
• Build, refactor, and maintain reusable, accessible UI components for product teams.
• Identify and reduce design/code drift in existing component libraries and design systems.
• Establish patterns and conventions that improve consistency and maintainability.
• Prototype new interaction patterns to help teams align and de-risk decisions.
• Collaborate with Product Designers, Managers, and Engineers to define quality standards.

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Enterprise Technology space.
This role will shape and evolve the company's design system across design tools, documentation, and production code, ensuring a consistent and scalable user experience for complex B2B software.
The ideal candidate will bridge product design and frontend engineering to improve usability, accessibility, and maintainability across reusable UI components and interaction patterns.
You will partner closely with Product Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers to reduce design-to-code drift, establish clear standards, and prototype solutions that help teams move faster with greater confidence.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $125,000 – $150,000 annually
