Job summary

HireShine Solutions LLC is seeking a seasoned GIS/network design specialist to create accurate network maps and detailed construction prints for hybrid fiber networks (HFC) and fiber backbones, using GE Small World/GNIS and ESRI ArcGIS.

The role focuses on analyzing fiber networks, planning routes, and developing automated designs while ensuring compliance with project specifications and company standards. On-site work may be required across several projects for telecom infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in GIS/network design for telecom projects.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering specifications.
• Experience with GIS/CAD tools for network planning.

Responsibilities

• Creates network maps and construction prints per specs using GE Small World.
• Designs fiber to the home projects and extracts data from databases.
• Analyzes and improves fiber networks using Quality Manager Tool.
• Ensures designs meet project specs and company standards.
• Checks fiber availability and proposes routes and redundancy requirements.
• Designs copper routes including cable size and gauge and terminations.
• Produces designs for HFC, backbone and PON networks.
• Documents, tests, and modifies network operating systems for reliability.
• Updates designs in GNIS/PNI and approves design changes.
• Performs quality checks and negotiates design/construction changes.
• Handles fiber design system applications and large telecom networks.
• Directs design and drafting with strict quality control to limit redlines.
• Develops extensions and redesigns per customer specs.
• Creates automated systems to meet partner requirements and tests results.
• Processes change notices to ensure work is complete and documented.
• Provides detailed Inside Plant designs for commercial projects.
• Studies data, defines test plans, analyzes results to meet specs.
• Designs line setups using GIS/CAD and plans OSP installations and upgrades.
• Performs sustaining engineering and coordinates actions to implement changes.
• Prepares maps showing locations of consumers, lines, and devices.
• Getting right people in right roles supports asset development.
• Staffing/training modules serve individual employee needs.

Description:

• Creates accurate network maps and detailed electronic constructionprints. Prepares layouts, drawings and designs according to engineeringspecifications using GE small world
• DesignsFiber to the Home projects, involving placement of splice cases and fiber byextracting data from database
• Analyze and improve network of Fiber, Splice Enclosures, Towers,Antenna and other equipment using Quality Manager Tool
• Special emphasis placed on cost effective application of softwareprograms to assure compliance with project specifications and companystandards.
• Responsible for fiber availability and ring capacity checks,propose new routes, determination of redundancy requirements
• Design copper routes and lay-out count including size and gauge ofcable including: terminals, cross box, loop make-ups, rearrangement, bridge tapremoval, circuit types & pair conditioning
• Designs accurate network maps, layouts, drawings and detailedelectronic construction prints for hybrid-fiber-coax (HFC) and backbone and PONoverlay fiber optic networks
• Document, test, and modify network operating systems to enhanceefficiency and reliability
• Responsible for creating designs, updating objects and levels inPNI (Physical Network Inventory database) GE Small world (GNIS)
• Perform quality checks of mapping and network design andnegotiate/approve design and/or construction changes
• Responsible for applications dealing with the overall operating fiberdesign system, such as sophisticated file maintenance routines, largetelecommunications networks, computer accounting and advanced scientificsoftware packages.
• Directs overall design and drafting development on projects andinsure strict quality control measures to limit redline and drive accuracy.
• Design extensions andcomplete small system redesigns, in accordance with customer designspecifications
• Design and developautomated systems/programs to satisfy business partner requirements byperforming structured reviews of program/system design, reviewing test plans forthe system, performing and reviewing application systems programming andtesting, and reviewing system test results with business partners anddevelopment personnel
• Process engineering changenotices and orders, to ensure that all related work is complete/accurate andthat all related documentation is acquired and routed properly
• Provide detailed designsand engineering for all physical Inside Plant aspects on commercial customerproduct delivery projects
• Study Design data, definetest plans, and analyze test data and reports to determine if design meetsfunctional and performance specifications
• Designscost effective line setup and staking specifications and cable and lineextensions using GIS and CAD, along with associated integration softwareincluding designing and developing OSP equipment installation, modifications,and upgrades
• Perform sustaining engineering by studying quality defects,suggesting corrective actions, and coordinating the efforts of all departmentsto implement design changes.
• Prepareand maintains maps of the communication system, which accurately show locationof all consumers, lines, devices, roads, and other background details
