Job summary

TriNet Group is seeking an engineer/designer to create cost-effective, accurate OSP construction prints while meeting client deadlines. The role blends design and field-ready engineering to support long-term fiber/copper installations.

You will analyze access points, design aerial/underground paths, attach cables to poles, and navigate rights of way on public and private properties, ensuring no conflicts with existing facilities. Strong communication and detail orientation are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in STEM preferred.
• Understanding of outside plant engineering and construction techniques.
• Experience with AutoCAD and GIS software.
• Experience with Outside Plant engineering for FTTX networks.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

Job description

Your main responsibilities for this role will be to bothengineer and design the most cost-effective, accurate and high quality OSPconstruction work prints while meeting or exceeding all client deadlines. Seebelow for specifics:

• Work invarious customer specific systems to produce a cost-effective engineered designfor construction to place, splice, install and maintain for many years to come.
• Identifyassigned fiber/copper pairs at a strategic access points and design an aerialand or underground path from point A to point B.
• Identifythe necessary requirements to successfully attach fiber/copper cables to apoles as well as place cables in the underground environments.
• Engineerin the public right of way and on private property avoiding conflict withexisting facilities.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Highschool diploma or GED equivalent.
• Bachelor’sdegree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics preferred.
• Understandingof outside plant engineering and construction techniques.
• Work withOutside Plant Engineering in the following systems: AutoCAD, and orclient-specific GIS software.
• Deepunderstanding of Outside Plant Engineering as it pertains to the architectureof various FTTX networks.
• Fieldexperienced preferable, but not required.
• Experienceusing AutoCAD and most Microsoft tools (Outlook, Word, Power Point, and Excel)
• Deadlinedriven, self-motivated, and technically savvy.
• Excellentverbal and written interpersonal communication skills.
• Strongattention to detail.
• Abilityto be flexible, take direction with ease, including changes to schedule andworkflow priorities.
