Job summary

MEPPI, a Mitsubishi Electric Power Products Inc, seeks a Senior Design Engineer based in Warrendale, PA to lead PCB design and system integration for electric propulsion projects.

You will oversee design reviews, testing, RAMS, and field service support, coordinating with customers and suppliers to meet technical specifications, schedule, and cost goals.

Qualifications

  • BS in electrical engineering or equivalent with PCB design experience.
  • Experience leading design and development including reviews and testing.
  • Familiar with RAMS, validation, and field service concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design activities for PCBs and propulsion-related electronics.
  • Coordinate with customers and suppliers to meet specs and schedules.
  • Perform bench testing, bring-up, and debugging of boards.
  • Prepare documentation, FAI, and customer deliverables.
  • Support field service activities and qualification tests.

Join the MEPPI Team Mitsubishi Electric Power Products Inc MEPPI is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to be based in our Warrendale PA facility.

What Youll Do

Provide technical leadership for the delivery of key engineering milestones through design and development including design reviews testing and inspections in accordance with internal and customer requirementsInterface and coordinate with customers suppliers and internalexternal design partners to meet customer technical specifications schedule quality and cost expectationsLead multidisciplinary team efforts encompassing software and hardware design verification and validation procurement manufacturing training documentation RAMS maintenance and field serviceDesign and develop PCBs in Altium or similar schematic design component selection and layout Support electrical system design and integration across the broader product Perform bench testing bring up and debug of newly fabricated boards; document resultsManage minor coding tasks and firmware enhancements Interpret and apply communication protocol and network architecture requirementsPerform equipment design and rating calculations for electric propulsion systems Input track data and perform run curve simulation to validate design Coordinate and finalize designs with System Design and Performance engineering teamsDevelop equipment and system design specifications and reports for the main power circuit and control circuitsManage andor oversee end to end requirements management processes Review customer specifications and develop requirements traceability and validation matricesInterface with the customer as necessary to ensure that the system and equipment designs meet all performance requirements Prepare and submit customer documentation deliverables design review and source data documents for customer approvalGenerate test and inspection procedures Participate in engineering and qualification tests at external labs in US and Japan Lead and facilitate First Article Inspection FAI presentations for customersTroubleshoot equipment non conformance Prepare non conformity reports Prepare Field Modification Instruction FMI documentation if necessary Provide general support for Field Service activities

What Youll Bring

Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Power Electronics Engineering with 7 years experience in the development and application of PCBs for industrial applications power conversion technology and control or equivalent education and experienceDeveloped knowledge of PCB design propulsion control circuits or industrial inverter designStrong grasp of analog and digital electrical system fundamentalsHands on electronic testing and validation of custom designed PCBsWorking knowledge of networks network architecture and communication protocolsBroad knowledge of integrating power conversion technology into complex systemsKnowledge of Railway System and an understanding of Rolling Stock electrical systemsUnderstanding of environmental requirements such as EMIEMC flammability noise RAMSDemonstrated experience with design for manufacturing product life cycle management and project based design cyclesProficiency in Altium Designer or similar including schematic capture and multilayer layoutAdvanced computer skills emphasizing MS Office products CAD systems and analytical tools
