Position: Senior Design Engineer

We're seeking a Senior Design Engineer who will work with clients and vendors to design water and wastewater treatment solutions that meet customer needs. The ideal candidate will have a PE license in at least one state and a firm understanding of technologies in the WTP and WWTP industry.

Responsibilities

1. Translate customer requirements into functional system designs.
2. Review pre-construction design and documentation.
3. Assist with technical design, estimating hours, and highlighting logistical challenges for the sales team.
4. Generate functional system descriptions and diagrams.
5. Provide ongoing engineering support.
6. Perform system calculations from preliminary to final design.
7. Provide plan markups and lead cost estimates.
8. Coordinate with project staff, other disciplines, subconsultants, clients, and reviewers.
9. Manage and maintain project documentation, schedules, budgets, and scope.
10. Assist in proposal development, scope of work, and scheduling.
11. Mentor junior staff in technical and professional development.
12. Collaborate with and manage external engineering firms and consultants.
13. Review and approve final project designs.

Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil or related).
2. 8+ years of relevant experience.
3. Licensed Professional Engineer in one or more states.
4. Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment technologies.
5. Experience with construction, utilities, and treatment plants.
6. Ability to read civil, mechanical, structural, and electrical drawings.
7. Ability to create P&ID diagrams.
8. Proficiency with MS Office and design software including CAD.

Location & Travel

This is a remote-based position. Travel to job sites is expected up to 4 days per month.

Salary range: $110,000 - $150,000 plus bonuses. Compensation varies based on experience, education, and location.
