Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Senior Design Coordinator to join the Architecture practice in Charlotte or Raleigh, NC. You will independently apply architectural techniques to construction docs and work directly with owners to select procedures.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Architecture, 5+ years' experience, Proficiency in Revit, and strong leadership and presentation skills. Local candidates preferred, with an employee-owned culture at HDR.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform architectural assignments with general instruction from Project Architect/PM.
• Work directly with owners/clients to select and recommend procedures.
• Write specifications and perform code reviews.
• Assist Project Architects, other Coordinators or Technicians across all phases of the process.

Job description

Senior Design Coordinator

HDR is looking for a Senior Design Coordinator to join our Architecture practice in either Charlotte or Raleigh, NC. In the role of Senior Design Coordinator, we'll count on you to:

• Independently evaluate, select and apply architectural techniques, procedures and modifications to architectural construction documents
• Independently perform architectural assignments with only general instruction from the Project Architect or Project Manager regarding the expected results
• Work directly with owners/clients to select and recommend procedures
• Write specifications covering architectural matters and perform code reviews
• Assist Project Architects, other Architectural Project Coordinators or Technicians as needed, and take responsibility for work in all phases of the architectural process
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Architecture
• 10 years of experience in similar role
• REVIT proficient
• Experience in the areas of healthcare, educational, civic, science and research facilities
• Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED
• Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp and 3-D Studio Max
• Rhino and Grasshopper experience
• Local candidates are preferred
