Job summary

Veregy is a leading decarbonization company seeking a Senior Project Developer to lead costing and development of distributed energy resources and microgrid projects across the West Region, primarily in California, Arizona, and Colorado. You will collaborate with regional teams to move opportunities from origination to execution.

The role requires coordinating site work, evaluating incentives, and presenting technical and financial solutions to customers and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field.
• Five+ years of experience in solar energy storage or microgrid construction.
• Three years of experience in project development.
• Two plus years of Energy Engineering experience is desired.
• Experience in AutoCAD, Revit, Visio, Procore, MS Project is required.

Responsibilities

• Develops cost estimates and project plans for solar PV, energy storage, and backup generation systems from origination through financial close.
• Builds relationships with site representatives, local agencies, and stakeholders while advancing a portfolio of opportunities.
• Leads costing for DER and microgrid opportunities, including solar PV, energy storage, and backup generation.
• Coordinates early development across multiple sites, including site and equipment selection, utility routing, initial system design, interconnection, permitting, and construction planning.
• Prepares requests for proposals and evaluates vendor quotes with DER Engineering support.
• Negotiates with vendors and suppliers with legal, finance, and executive teams on contract terms.
• Works with DER engineers and regional developers to select technical and material solutions that improve project competitiveness.
• Presents technical and financial solutions clearly to customers and internal decision makers.
• Supports constructible Helioscope designs, financial models, and feasibility studies.
• Evaluates rebates, solar credits, incentives, and net metering policies.
• Coordinates with customers on site access and construction requirements, and with Preconstruction on final design and permitting.
• Prioritizes opportunities based on feasibility, cost, and likelihood of execution.
