Job summary

California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) seeks an experienced Assistant Deputy Director, MC to oversee planning, implementation, coordination, evaluation, and management of DHCS’s managed care delivery systems and policies.

The ADD, MC leads two divisions, collaborates with the DHCS Executive Staff, CHHS, DOF, CMS, and other stakeholders to advance California’s health care safety net while navigating state and federal requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated experience formulating, directing, and managing managed care policy.
• Ability to lead policy development with internal teams, advocates, plans, and legislative/federal partners.
• Experience supervising an executive office and guiding staff toward goals.
• Ability to advise executive management on high-impact policy issues in managed care.
• Ability to coordinate with divisions to drive consensus and program coherence.
