Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years as LADBS Deputy Inspector on large-scale construction projects.
• Current LADBS Deputy Inspector licenses in Concrete Construction, Masonry, Steel Construction, Drilled-in Anchors/Seismic Resistance, and Spray-applied Fireproofing.
• Current City of Los Angeles Deputy Inspector license in Grading or Post-Tensioning (Pre-Stressed).
• 30‑hour Cal/OSHA training within the four years preceding assignment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience overseeing construction activities and ensuring compliance with building codes on large projects.
• Experience coordinating with multiple project stakeholders (contractors, engineers, etc.).
• Strong ability to identify code violations and ensure standards are met.
• Thorough knowledge of construction methods, materials, and inspection procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and detailed daily reports.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills; able to handle multiple assignments.

Responsibilities

• Perform special inspections across concrete, masonry, steel, drilled-in anchors, seismic resistance, and spray-fireproofing.
• Monitor construction activities for code compliance and project specs.
• Prepare and maintain daily inspection reports detailing performers, activities, location, and methods.
• Review and utilize construction documents (plans, specs, change orders, RFIs).
• Coordinate inspection activities and communicate findings with stakeholders.
