Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Senior Departmental Buyer to execute advanced purchasing and procurement duties in support of University Housing and Dining (UHD). You will manage requisitions, solicit bids, and develop vendor relationships to ensure competitive pricing and high-quality service.

You will work with various UHD departments, including Facilities Maintenance, IT, and Dining Operations, while adhering to University and State guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum 3 years of purchasing or relevant experience.
• Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Performs highly advanced purchasing and procurement work. Oversees purchasing activities for the procurement of supplies, materials, equipment, and services following established University and State guidelines.
• Works as the departmental buyer and procurement resource for UHD across multiple units, setting priorities and timelines.
• Reviews processes regularly to improve efficiency and implements purchasing workflow improvements.
• Coordinates training for staff on purchasing practices and policies.
