Job summary

Northwestern University in Chicago, IL seeks a senior-level Department Administrator to lead the Basic Science Administration for multiple departments and institutes. You will guide operations, research administration, finance, HR, and facilities to support over 200 faculty and 300 staff, driving growth and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in business, accounting or related field with 10+ years' supervisory experience.
• Experience in budgets, grant administration, facilities, and/or HR is preferred.
• Strong leadership, strategic planning and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Directs day-to-day activities of multiple administrative units.
• Oversees research grant administration and compliance.
• Manages budgets for large volumes of research grants.
• Coordinates faculty recruitment, appointments and payroll processing.
• Leads technology and facilities initiatives to support the strategic plan.
• Represents the unit with internal and external stakeholders.
