Qualifications

• Current registration as a dental assistant in TN with Radiology Certification, Coronal Polishing Certification, Nitrous Oxide Certification, and Sealant Certification.
• Substitution of Education for Experience: None.
• Required certifications include Restorative Certification, Prosthetic Certification, and a Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients and operatories for dental procedures; four handed chair side assisting; and post treatment education.
• Performs coronal polishing and sealant placement; monitors nitrous oxide levels; ensures patient safety during/after anesthesia.
• Schedules appointments, answers calls, and manages daily schedule.
• Reviews medical history; documents dental conditions and treatments; maintains charts and reports; keeps inventory for dental services.
• Exposes and prepares x-rays; adheres to infection control and safety guidelines.
• Compiles information from patients and families regarding health and needs; coordinates with school programs for referrals.
• Communicates with external sources and guides dental students in equipment use as needed.
• Ensures compliance with state/federal guidelines; maintains licenses and certifications.
