Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain demand forecasts using historical data, market trends, seasonality, promotional activity, and business insights.
  • Create short-, mid-, and long-term demand plans to support inventory and production requirements.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy and implement corrective actions to improve planning performance.
  • Analyze demand trends, forecast variances, and product performance to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Recommend improvements to forecasting methodologies and planning processes.
  • Support inventory optimization, balancing service levels with working capital objectives.
  • Partner with purchasing and supply planning teams to align procurement with forecasted demand.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, KPIs, and planning metrics to support decision-making.
  • Utilize ERP systems and planning tools to support forecasting and inventory management.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Sales, and Leadership to align forecasts with business objectives.
  • Participate in demand reviews, planning meetings, and S&OP activities.

A growing consumer products manufacturer is seeking a Senior Demand Planner to lead forecasting, inventory planning, and demand management activities across finished goods and raw materials. This position plays a critical role in ensuring inventory availability, supporting production planning, improving forecast accuracy, and driving business growth.

The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, inventory planning expertise, ERP experience, and the ability to collaborate across Supply Chain, Operations, Purchasing, Sales, and Leadership teams in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
Demand Planning & Forecasting
  • Develop and maintain demand forecasts using historical sales data, market trends, seasonality, promotional activity, and business insights.
  • Create short-, mid-, and long-term demand plans to support inventory and production requirements.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy and implement corrective actions to improve planning performance.
  • Analyze demand trends, forecast variances, and product performance to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Recommend improvements to forecasting methodologies and planning processes.
Inventory & Supply Chain Planning
  • Support inventory optimization initiatives while balancing customer service levels and working capital objectives.
  • Partner with purchasing and supply planning teams to align procurement activities with forecasted demand.
  • Monitor inventory levels and recommend actions to mitigate stockouts, excess inventory, and obsolescence.
  • Support planning activities across finished goods, packaging materials, components, and raw materials.
  • Assist in developing inventory strategies that support operational and business objectives.
Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Utilize advanced Excel tools and analytics to evaluate forecast performance and inventory trends.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, KPIs, and planning metrics to support decision-making.
  • Analyze large datasets and translate findings into actionable business recommendations.
  • Present forecasting insights, inventory health metrics, and planning performance updates to leadership.
Systems & Technology
  • Utilize ERP systems and planning tools to support forecasting, inventory management, and supply chain planning processes.
  • Leverage advanced planning technologies and analytics tools to improve visibility and decision-making.
  • Support implementation and continuous improvement of planning systems, reporting capabilities, and forecasting processes.
  • Assist with evaluating and adopting new planning technologies and best practices.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Sales, and Leadership teams to align forecasts with business objectives.
  • Participate in demand reviews, planning meetings, and S&OP activities.
  • Communicate planning assumptions, risks, opportunities, and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Serve as a key contributor to inventory strategy and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support organizational growth through proactive demand and inventory planning.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Finance, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Experience in Demand Planning, Inventory Planning, Supply Planning, Purchasing, or Supply Chain Planning.
  • Strong forecasting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and planning platforms.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets and provide data-driven recommendations.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), food manufacturing, consumer products, or similar industries.
  • Experience utilizing advanced forecasting, demand planning, or AI-enabled planning tools.
  • Background supporting both demand planning and supply planning functions.
  • Experience participating in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.
  • Proven success improving forecast accuracy, inventory performance, and planning processes.
