Position: Senior Planner

Reporting directly to the Director of Inventory Management, the Senior Planner will be data-driven, focusing on driving sales growth and profitability through analytics, industry trends, and historical data. This role requires influencing peers and managers at all levels, analyzing business performance, and developing strategies that support financial targets. The ideal candidate enjoys teamwork, thrives in a fast-paced retail environment, and is passionate about retail management.

What you'll do:
  1. Build strong relationships with inventory and buying teams to understand business performance at the item level.
  2. Collaborate on developing strategies at the item, category, and subcategory levels to enhance business effectiveness.
  3. Create and maintain demand forecasts based on sales trends, seasonality, promotions, and market insights.
  4. Monitor forecast accuracy, identify root causes of errors, and implement improvements.
  5. Support SKU-level forecasting, new product launches, and phase-outs.
  6. Prepare reports and dashboards on forecast performance, inventory metrics, and demand trends.
  7. Lead Open to Buy (OTB) discussions, focusing on business drivers and strategic initiatives.
  8. Oversee markdowns, inventory health, and procurement forecasts.
  9. Conduct financial forecasts, including sales, receipts, gross margin, and inventory across categories and timeframes.
  10. Analyze business performance regularly, providing actionable insights for strategic decisions.
  11. Anticipate customer behavior and market trends to inform category strategies.
  12. Perform vendor analyses to support negotiations.
  13. Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to align goals and strategies.
  14. Identify opportunities to maximize sales and improve business performance.
  15. Run financial models to support buying decisions, considering risks and assumptions.
  16. Ensure accuracy and efficiency in reporting and re-projections to manage inventory and margins.
  17. Collaborate with departments to meet cross-functional goals.
  18. Proactively look for opportunities to increase sales potential.
  19. Perform other duties as needed, demonstrating flexibility in a dynamic environment.
What you bring to the table:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Finance, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in merchandise planning, inventory management, or analytics.
  • Strong analytical skills, with excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.
  • Ability to influence and partner with cross-functional teams at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and enthusiasm for brand building.

Salary: $100,000 - $110,000 annually
