POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Senior Demand Planner executes the demand forecasting strategy for a medium-volume and medium complexity portfolio, accountable for $500+ million of annual sales revenue. In addition to strong analytical and statistical experience, this role also requires collaboration and multifunctional partnerships with functions such as Finance, Marketing, and Sales. This role requires strong communication and influencing skills with the senior levels across the organization. The position participates in the monthly Commercial Review/Consensus process within the IBP framework and the Supply review meetings. The senior demand planner provides key business insights regarding short-term and medium-range volume forecasts for Marketing, volume outlooks for Sales, along with leadership in developing volume projection assumptions, risks, and opportunities for the business. Analyze and triangulate data from multiple sources including historical trends, statistical and machine learning models, sales assumptions, marketing assumptions, external consumption, customer forecasts, and new product commercialization to create, validate, and develop the demand plan.
  • Maintain historical baseline data and trends; troubleshoot large, complex system problems with IT and GBS; develop forecast scenarios with assumptions. Evaluate KPI tracking and manage RCCA to drive improvements.
  • Communicate downstream and cross-functional impacts of material plan changes (short-term). Collaborate with marketing and sales to understand upside opportunities and downside risks versus the demand plan.
  • Influence cross-functional business partners at all levels to achieve monthly consensus on the demand plan.
  • Implement Forecast Value-Add (FVA) analysis as part of mid-to-long-term demand planning strategy.
  • Lead in IBP and S&OE processes (Ownership of Pre-PCR, PCR; Engagement & Support of CR, PSR, and SR).
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Administration, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • 4-6 years of planning experience with a strong understanding of end-to-end processes.

  • CPG Experience.
  • Proven professionalism; ability to influence leaders within Marketing, Sales, Finance, Supply Planning, and Commercialization.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Excellent presentation and analytical skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex and disparate data sources to extract key insights.
  • Proven problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, ERP (e.g., SAP), ECC, APO, IBP, and forecasting tools.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in statistical forecasting and demand planning systems.
  • MBA.
