Job summary
Wunderlich-Malec Engineering in Philadelphia, PA seeks Senior Controls Engineer to design and implement Emerson DeltaV and Rockwell automation for life sciences. You will work in a dynamic system integration environment and deliver regulatory-compliant automation for biopharma and API manufacturing.
You will collaborate with electrical, process, and validation teams, participate in FAT/SAT, and mentor junior engineers.
Qualifications
- Professional degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 6–12 years in automation/control systems engineering with emphasis on DeltaV.
- Experience with ISA-88 Batch Processing and batch configuration.
- Knowledge of cGMP, 21 CFR Part 11, and validation life cycle.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop, configure, and implement Emerson DeltaV control systems per customer specs and WM standards.
- Design and program Batch processes per ISA-88 standards (including DeltaV).
- Collaborate with clients in life sciences to gather requirements and develop automation solutions.
- Engineer system architecture, hardware specs, and control strategies for efficiency.
- Configure controllers, applications, HMI, and historian with compliance to validation.
- Provide on-site startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting for deployed systems.
