Job summary

Referment seeks a seasoned Project Manager to own end-to-end client delivery, from scope through production and closure. You will define charters and SOWs, align with sales engineering and solutions consulting, and drive milestones and dependencies to completion.

You will manage multiple engagements remotely, holding stakeholders accountable, surfacing risks early, and delivering transparent status updates using JIRA and Confluence.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of project management experience.
• Proven ownership of complex delivery projects end to end in a client-facing environment.
• Ability to author project charters and Statements of Work (SOW).
• Strong organizational skills with sound judgement for decisive action.

Referment is working with a financial planning technology company that builds a verifiable financial advice engine for banks, credit unions, broker-dealers, independent advisors and insurance companies across Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom. Founded in 2018, it powers financial planning at scale, with team members distributed across three countries.

You would be the single accountable owner of project delivery. You take a project from the moment scope is handed off through to production, closure and retrospective — answerable for how it runs, how it is governed, how it is reported and when it deploys for the client. You set the direction for each project: defining how it will be governed, converting high-level scope from the sales engineering and solutions consulting teams into a client-facing Statement of Work, calling for the solutioning resources the work demands, and driving milestones and dependencies to closure. You own the truth of status, internally and externally, and when a project is at risk you own the recovery plan, not just the escalation.

The Role

• Run multiple concurrent projects across client delivery engagements, applying best practices in project governance and change management.
• Own each project end to end, from initiation to production and closure.
• Author Statements of Work that define deliverables, milestones, timelines, dependencies, assumptions, exclusions, acceptance criteria and client responsibilities precisely enough to hold up through delivery.
• Hold internal and external stakeholders to commitments, raising risks and blockers early and owning mitigation before they affect commitments.
• Track program planning, status and reporting in JIRA and Confluence.

What We're Looking For

• 5-10 years of project management experience.
• Demonstrated ownership of complex delivery projects end to end in a client-facing environment.
• Proven ability to author project charters, Statements of Work and executive-level status reporting.
• A highly organized, detail-oriented approach, with the judgment to be trusted to make decisions.

This is a remote role for candidates in Canada or the United States. It could suit a delivery or project manager who has owned client-facing technology implementations and wants genuine accountability for how projects land — not just coordination of them.
